FRISCO, Texas (Feb. 27, 2026) – North Texas SC announced today the signing of midfielder Timothy Ospina to a one-year MLS NEXT Pro contract, with club options for a second and third year.
Ospina joins from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he made 20 appearances his senior year. On Aug. 21, 2025, he made his club debut against SMU and scored his first goal for the club against St. Thomas-Minnesota in Oct. 2025. Ospina and the Roos clinched the 2025 Summit League regular season, finishing with a 4-1-1 conference record and a 12-4-5 overall record.
"Timmy comes back to us after developing through our academy," NTSC head coach John Gall said. "He’s a top teammate and type of player that every team needs. He has good vision in the middle of the park and breaks play up well. He’s committed to helping the team succeed and I am delighted I get to work with him again. "
Before UMKC, Ospina spent three seasons with University of the Incarnate Word. From 2022-24, Ospina made 46 appearances, scored four goals, and recorded five assists for the Cardinals.
The Frisco, Texas, native joined the FC Dallas Academy in 2015 with the U-15s. Ospina reunites with former FC Dallas Academy and current North Texas SC head coach John Gall. The six-foot-even midfielder was on the U-23 squad that won The League for Clubs TX conference and South region. He also was named to the 2025 TX Conference Team of the Season.
