MANSFIELD, Texas (Sept. 13, 2026) — North Texas SC (8-9-10, 40 points) won the extra-point penalty shootout 4-3 after playing Houston Dynamo 2 (14-7-6, 52 points) to a 0-0 draw in regulation Sunday night at Texas Health Mansfield Stadium. North Texas converted all four of its penalty attempts, while goalkeeper Eryk Dymora saved two penalties to secure the extra point.

Goalkeeper Eryk Dymora made three saves tonight, including two in the extra-point penalty shootout, to secure two points for North Texas in the push for the playoffs. His professional career record in extra-penalty shootouts is five wins and four losses.

Tonight marked North Texas SC's final regular-season match in Mansfield, Texas. On July 4, 2026, North Texas moved into its new home at Texas Health Mansfield Stadium. Since then, the club has posted a 3-2-4 record and scored 15 goals at home
ALL EYES ON THE PLAYOFFS
North Texas SC will finish the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season with all to play for as the Mansfield side looks to reach the playoffs for a third consecutive year. Following Decision Day, the No. 8 and No. 9 seeds in each conference will face off in a single-elimination Play-in Round, with the No. 8 seed hosting. The winners will advance as the final No. 8 seeds in the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs.
