ARLINGTON, Texas (Sept. 27, 2025) – North Texas SC (10-11-6, 40 points) fell 4-2 to Real Monarchs (12-7-8, 48 points) in the final home game played at Choctaw Stadium. Chris Salazar and Faisu Sangare scored for North Texas.
CHRIS SALAZAR SCORES HIS FIRST
FC Dallas Academy striker Chris Salazar scored his first professional career goal in the 6th minute of the match. This marks the second fastest goal scored this season by North Texas. Salazar has made 13 appearances for the club since making his debut on March 25, 2025 against Houston Dynamo 2.
SANGARE ADDS ANOTHER
North Texas SC forward Faisu Sangare scored his second goal of the season from a Sam Sedeh assist in the 86th minute. Sangare has 11 appearances for the club since signing in April 2025.
PATHWAY TO PRO
Tonight, FC Dallas Academy defenders Wyatt Easterly and Christian Wygant made their professional debut. Wygant represents the U.S. at the youth international level and was called up to the identity camp for the U-17’s in August 2025. Easterly and Wygant became the 33rd and 34th FC Dallas Academy products to make their MLS NEXT Pro debut for North Texas.
FAREWELL CHOCTAW STADIUM
North Texas played its final home game at Choctaw Stadium after a six-year stay at the former home of the Texas Rangers. Since beginning play at Choctaw in 2020, North Texas held a 36-15-24 all-time record at home, and a 26-13-14 record in MLS NEXT Pro play. The club posted its best home record during the 2024 championship run with a 12-0-5 record in both regular season and playoffs. North Texas will move to its new permanent home, Mansfield Stadium, for the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro Season.
