STORY LINES

First Win

North Texas SC recorded its first win under interim head coach John Gall, with a resounding 4-0 victory at home against Timbers2. This victory serves as the clubs first win since June 4, in a 2-0 victory over LA Galaxy II at home. The game was highlighted by the abundance of chances created and stout defensive performance. Herbert Endeley opened the scoring in the 38th minute with a directed header from a Carl Sainté cross into the box. Forward José Mulato then got in on the action, scoring two goals in four minutes, netting in the 52nd and 56th minute of the game. The game was then finished by Tomas Pondeca who scored his first North Texas SC goal to put the game out of reach at 4-0. With the team fighting for a playoff spot, North Texas looks to build on this dominant performance in the next match on the road against Minnesota United FC 2.

Back on Target

Last match marked the second time this season North Texas has scored four goals in a game. The other win by four goals or more came in a 4-1 victory over St Louis CITY2. The dominant offensive performance was highlighted by star forward José Mulato, who has now scored in back-to-back games. The forward scored two goals and assisted once, to bring his season tally to six goals and three assists in just 13 games. The team was able to create numerous goal-scoring opportunities mainly because of their dominance in possession, controlling 54% throughout the game. This control allowed North Texas to register 17 total shots with nine on target, with a 44% shot conversion rate. The team looks to build on this dominant performance on the road, against the higher seeded MNUFC2.
