MANSFIELD, Texas (July 25, 2026) – North Texas SC (6-6-6, 26 points) rallied back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw with LAFC 2 (7-5-7, 31 points) at Texas Health Mansfield Stadium Saturday night. Nicholas Simmonds scored the game-tying penalty in the 93rd minute to help North Texas earn a point before falling in the extra-point shootout.

FLOWER STARTING TO BLOOM*
Homegrown forward Benji Flowers made his first professional start tonight, making history as the youngest to do so in club history. Flower is the youngest player in the FC Dallas Organization to sign a professional and Homegrown contract. The U.S. international has four appearances this season for North Texas.

EDU NYS SCORES HIS NINTH*
Midfielder Edu Nys scored his ninth goal from a goalkeeper turnover forced by Nicholas Simmonds. Nys has appeared in all 18 matches for the club this year. He signed with the club in Feb. 2026.
SIMMONDS TO THE RESCUE
FC Dallas Forward Nicholas Simmonds scored his second goal of the season on a penalty kick, including another in the extra penalty shootout. Simmonds has six appearances for the club, and was drafted No. 3 overall in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft.
