BURNABY, British Columbia (June 10, 2026) – North Texas SC (4-5-5, 19 points) drew 1-1 to Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 (2-10-3, 16 points) in regulation before falling 3-4 in the extra point shootout. Jaidyn Contreras scored the lone goal for the club.  

JAIDYN CONTRERAS OPENS THE SCORING
Midfielder Jaidyn Contreras scored his first goal of the season from a Daniel Baran assist in the 48th minute of the match Contreras has three career goals in 38 appearances with North Texas. He recently returned from the Honduras U-20 squad training camp held in Spain earlier this month.

WELCOME THE 2026 FIFA WORLD CUP
The 2026 FIFA World Cup begins June 11 with Mexico v. South Africa at 2 p.m. CT. Two North Texas SC alums could make their World Cup debuts with their respective teams: Ricardo Pepi with team USA and Carl Sainte with Haiti. The U.S. begins their group stage play on Friday, June 12, against Paraguay at 8 p.m. CT, while Haiti faces Scotland on Saturday, June 13 at 8 p.m. CT.
