North Texas SC Acquires Midfielder Carl Sainté on Loan from New Mexico United

Frisco, Texas (August 15, 2022) – North Texas SC has signed midfielder Carl Sainté on a loan from USL Championship’s New Mexico United until the end of the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro inaugural season, pending League and Federation approval. North Texas SC has an option to exercise a permanent transfer on Sainté’s contract following the duration of the loan in October 2022.

Sainté, 20, joins North Texas SC after signing with New Mexico United at the end of the 2021 USL Championship season. He’s appeared in five matches and started in one with a total of 76 minutes played in USL Championship play. Sainté was in the starting lineup for New Mexico United’s U.S. Open Cup Second round 5-0 win over Las Vegas Legends where he scored in the 47th minute of the match.

Sainté was part of the Haiti U-17 MYNT that played in the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil. He started all three group stage matches and scored the nation’s first goal of the tournament vs. the Korea Republic on October 27 in the 2-1 defeat. On March 27, Sainté made his senior debut for the Haiti National Team in an international friendly against Guatemala on March 27, 2022. He also appeared in four matches off the bench playing 77 minutes for Haiti in the 2022 CONCACAF Nations League.
