FRISCO, Texas (February 1, 2023) – North Texas SC has acquired defender Manuel Caicedo on loan from Cortuluá F.C. throughout the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro season, pending league and U.S. Soccer Federation approval, in addition to his ITC and work authorization. Per team policy, additional terms of the deal will not be disclosed.
North Texas has an option to exercise a permanent transfer on Caicedo’s contract following the conclusion of his 2023 loan.
“Manuel is a young talented player who has a high potential,” said North Texas SC General Manager Matt Denny. “We are excited about the roster we are putting together for the upcoming 2023 MLS NEXT Pro season.”
Caicedo, 19, started his career for Club Deportivo Cerrito’s U-17 Academy on August 5, 2021. He appeared in 18 matches, logging 1,510 minutes and netted four goals. On July 29, 2022, Caicedo joined Cortuluá F.C. since joining he has featured in 16 matches playing 1,440 minutes.
