Natty James Called Up to Trinidad and Tobago National Team for 2026-27 Concacaf Nations League

MANSFIELD, Texas (Sept. 17, 2026) - North Texas SC midfielder Nathaniel “Natty” James has been called up to the Trinidad and Tobago senior national team for the 2026-27 Concacaf Nations League from Sept. 23-Oct. 6. Trinidad and Tobago will compete in League A.

James made 26 appearances for North Texas this season, scoring eight goals and recording one assist. His brace against Sporting Kansas City II on April 4 earned him MLS NEXT Pro Player of Matchweek 5 honors. James later scored his first professional hat trick on May 16, also against Sporting Kansas City II. James joined North Texas in January 2026 from USL League One side Portland Hearts of Pine. He scored the 2025 USL League One Goal of the Year against Spokane Velocity on Oct. 21, 2025.

James has earned 23 caps and scored six goals for Trinidad and Tobago. He made his senior international debut with the Soca Warriors on March 13, 2023 against Jamaica in a friendly. Since then, James has competed in Concacaf Nations League, Gold Cup and 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
