FRISCO, Texas (March 9, 2026) – MLS NEXT Pro announced North Texas SC midfielder Edouard “Edu” Nys as the MLS NEXT Pro Player of the Matchweek for matchweek 2. Nys earned his first honor of the season after scoring a hat trick in North Texas SC’s 3-1 win over Colorado Rapids 2.
“Edu is a special player and a special kid. In the offseason we talked about the project here at North Texas and how we could help him continue to grow as a young professional,” North Texas SC head coach John Gall said on Saturday night. “Edu’s energy, commitment and overall play stand out. He has a very high ceiling and a big future.”
The Belgian midfielder was named NTSC captain ahead of the 2026 season alongside FC Dallas Homegrown Slade Starnes.
