FRISCO, Texas - Head coach Luchi Gonzalez makes just one change as FC Dallas takes on Colorado Rapids tonight, May 29 at 8PM at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. Here's the lineup notes, pres. by UnitedHealthcare.
Bressan Replaces Hedges
Defender Bressan replaces captain Matt Hedges in the center of defense after Hedges was ruled out of the game with a hip injury. Bressan has played in all six of FCD's games so far this year with all being starts except for Dallas' 2-2 draw with Real Salt Lake a week ago where he was used as a second-half sub.
Bressan's start marks the only change from Dallas' previous lineup from its matchup with RSL last week. So far this season, FCD has changed its lineup/formation from game to game, so today's relatively unchanged system is a sign that Luchi is looking to find a sense of consistency this time out.
While the formation is largely the same, keep an eye on midfielder Bryan Acosta to play slightly deeper compared to last week. The Honduran international will likely sit in front of the backline alongside Tanner Tessmann to form a double pivot of defensive midfielders. The slight variation is to give FCD a little more protection at the back while playing on the road.
Starting XI (4-1-4-1): Jimmy Maurer; Eddie Munjoma, Bressan, José Martínez, Ryan Hollingshead, Tanner Tessmann, Bryan Acosta, Andrés Ricaurte, Jáder Obrian, Freddy Vargas, Franco Jara
Substitutes — Colin Shutler, Bressan, Johnny Nelson, Ema Twumasi, Edwin Cerrillo, Paxton Pomykal, Thomas Roberts, Kalil ElMedkhar, Ricardo Pepi, Beni Redzic
