Munjoma's First Start
Homegrown defender Eddie Munjoma makes his first makes his first-ever MLS start as he replaces Ryan Hollingshead at right back while Hollingshead moves over to the left. Munjoma signed as FCD's 27th Homegrown player in January of 2020 and spent the majority of his rookie season with North Texas SC, playing five games in USL League One and recording one goal and one assist.
Phelipe in Goal
Brazilian goalkeeper Phelipe makes just his second-ever MLS start as he stands in for Jimmy Maurer who sustained a shoulder injury in the last match against San Jose. Phelipe was signed on loan midway through 2020 and played one game last season, recording six saves in the match against Minnesota United.
The first two matches of 2021 saw Dallas lineup in a 3-4-3 formation. Today, however, Luchi reverts back to his standard 4-3-3 lineup with a back four of Hollingshead, José Martinez, Bressan and Munjoma. Fellow defender Matt Hedges, who was questionable with a thigh issue heading into today's match. The only change in the forward line is 18-year-old Homegrown Ricardo Pepi who steps in for Franco Jara to lead the attack alongside Jáder Obrian and Freddy Vargas.
