FRISCO, Texas – Luchi makes two changes from the team that faced Houston a week ago as FC Dallas takes on Sporting KC tonight, Oct. 14 at 7:30PM at Toyota Stadium. Here's tonight's Lineup Notes, pres. by UnitedHealthcare.
Bressan in for Hedges
Defender Matt Hedges is unavailable for tonight's game after sustaining a muscle strain last time out against Houston. As we expected, Bressan is the man chosen to step in at center back in Hedges' stead. It will be the 27-year-old Brazilian's 12th appearance and fifth start of the season. Bressan featured as a sub in Dallas' previous two matchups against SKC, playing a total of 62 minutes against Peter Vermes' men so far this year.
Tessmann at the #6
Midfielder Tanner Tessmann gets the start at the defensive midfield spot giving the usual #6 starter Thiago Santos a short rest. The rookie Homegrown is a versatile player capable of playing in all midfield roles; but he'll face a tough test tonight as he goes up against an SKC offense that has yet to be shutout in 2020. Tonight will be Tessmann's seventh start of the year and his 13th FCD appearance overall.
Jara's Favorite Opponent
Although he's only been in MLS a short time, forward Franco Jara seems to have a favorite opponent already. The former CF Pachuca ace has scored five goals this season, with three of them coming against Sporting KC over two games. Jara hasn't found the net in four games (since his two-goal effort in the last match vs. SKC), so tonight could be the moment to get back on the scoresheet against his favorite foe.
Starting XI: Jimmy Maurer; Ryan Hollingshead, Bryan Reynolds, Reto Ziegler, Bressan, Tanner Tessmann, Bryan Acosta, Andrés Ricaurte; Fafa Picault, Franco Jara, Michael Barrios
Substitutes — Phelipe Megiolaro, John Nelson, Thiago Santos, Edwin Cerrillo, Thomas Roberts, Brandon Servania, Dante Sealy, Jesús Ferreira, Ricardo Pepi
