FRISCO, Texas – Luchi fields the exact same lineup that earned a 2-2 draw with the Columbus Crew as Dallas faces Houston in the third Texas Derby of the season tonight, Oct. 7 at 7PM at BBVA Stadium. Here's tonight's Lineup Notes, pres. by UnitedHealthcare.
Consistency is Key
For just the third time in 2020, Luchi fields the exact same Starting XI in back-to-back games. FC Dallas' busy schedule means its the first time Luchi opts for a consistent lineup since he used the same eleven against Houston and Colorado just four days apart. Considering Dallas took all three points in both those outings, he'll hope that the trick works once again this time around.
Eyes on Barrios
Midfielder Michael Barrios is tied with Kenny Cooper for FCD's highest scorer in Texas Derbies with five goals all-time. The diminutive Colombian got off the mark last Saturday and scored his first goal of the season with the opener against Columbus. He'll look to build on that tally and become Dallas' outright Derby top scorer with another goal tonight at BBVA stadium.
Midfielder Andrés Ricaurte - who joined Dallas earlier this summer - opened his FCD account with an outrageous first-time volley from outside the box in the previous Texas Derby. Although he's being deployed in a slightly deeper midfield role this time around (Bryan Acosta has been moved further forward to lead FCD's press from the attacking midfield spot), we could very well see a similar inspirational performance from the Colombian against the Dynamo once again.
Starting XI: Jimmy Maurer; Ryan Hollingshead, Bryan Reynolds, Reto Ziegler, Matt Hedges, Thiago Santos, Bryan Acosta, Andrés Ricaurte; Fafa Picault, Franco Jara, Michael Barrios
Substitutes — Phelipe Megiolaro, John Nelson, Bressan, Tanner Tessmann, Thomas Roberts, Brandon Servania, Dante Sealy, Jesús Ferreira, Ricardo Pepi
