FRISCO, Texas – Luchi fields the exact same lineup that defeated Houston on Saturday and Santiago Mosquera gets his second start of the year as FC Dallas takes on the Colorado Rapids tonight at 7:30PM at Toyota Stadium. Let's take a look at the rest of the Starting XI in the Lineup Notes, pres. by UnitedHealthcare.
For only the second time this season, FC Dallas uses the exact same Starting XI in back-to-back games. You have to go back to the first two matches of the year (in late February and early March) for the last time Luchi has opted to use the same starters twice in a row. Dallas earned a crucial 2-1 victory in the Texas Derby over Houston Dynamo with the same lineup on Saturday, and hopefully the consistency pays off again this time around.
Santi's 2nd Start
Midfielder Santi Mosquera gets his second start of the season tonight to face Colorado. His first start came just four days ago against Houston as he played 68 minutes, made 26 passes (88% accuracy) and had one shot on target. He'll be up against a Rapids defense that's only conceded three goals in its last four outings.
Goalkeeper Phelipe Megiolaro makes his first game-day roster after joining FCD on loan from Grêmio in Brazil. The 21-year-old only joined team training this week after undergoing his mandatory quarantine period. Megiolaro will be the backup goalie tonight as Kyle Zobeck gets his third start in a row after replacing Jimmy Maurer who's still working back from a muscle injury.
Starting XI: Kyle Zobeck; Bryan Reynolds, Ryan Hollingshead, Reto Ziegler, Matt Hedges, Thiago Santos, Tanner Tessmann, Andréd Ricaurte; Santiago Mosquera, Franco Jara, Michael Barrios
Substitutes — Phelipe Megiolaro, Edwin Cerrillo, Bressan, Jesús Ferreira, Fafa Picault, Dante Sealy, Brandon Servania, Ricardo Pepi, John Nelson
