2020 Lineup Notes DL V2

LINEUP NOTES, pres. by UnitedHealthcare: FC Dallas vs. Minnesota United | 8.29.20

FRISCO, Texas – Forward Ricardo Pepi gets his first MLS start and Ryan Hollingshead, Fafa Picault and Kobra return to the lineup as FC Dallas takes on Minnesota United FC tonight, Aug. 29 at 7:30PM at Toyota Stadium. Let's take a look at the rest of Luchi's Starting XI in the Lineup Notes, pres. by UnitedHealthcare.

Pepi's First Start
Homegrown Ricardo Pepi becomes the fourth-youngest player to start a league match for FC Dallas at 17 years and 234 days old. He starts at right wing in place of Michael Barrios as Luchi opts to give the ever-reliable Colombian a short break. Pepi is the fourth-youngest FCD player to start in MLS after Paxton Pomykal (17 years, 84 days), Eddie Johnson and Alexander Zendejas (both 17 years and 126 days).

Ryan Returns
Defender Ryan Hollingshead missed the previous two matches while dealing with a family matter, opening the door for second year defender Johnny Nelson to get his first two starts of the season. Nelson retains his place as Hollingshead slots in at right back in place of Reggie Cannon, who's not in the match day squad.

Fafa's First Start Since March
Forward Fafa Picault also returns to the starting lineup, his first since Dallas' 2-2 draw with Montreal back in March. The winger has been used as a sub in all three of FCD's games since the season restarted last month, but tonight he'll be out there from the get-go. He takes Jesús Ferreira's vacated spot at left wing as the 19-year-old Homegrown moves back into the midfield alongside Bryan Acosta and Thiago Santos. Another change to the front line is Zdenek Ondrasek (Kobra) who replaces Franco Jara at the center forward spot.
