Forward Alex Bruce scores his first North Texas goal in stoppage time to earn point

Arlington, Texas (Aug. 15, 2020) - North Texas SC earned a late 3-3 draw in its first match against expansion side New England Revolution II at Globe Life Park Saturday night. 

Game Summary

First Half:

  • 4’ – Thomas Roberts scored the first goal of the game on a free kick that was driven through the wall and into the bottom left corner of the goal.
  • 34’ – New England levelled the match up through Nicolas Firmino, who volleyed it into the bottom right corner of the net.
  • 20’ – New England’s Isaac Angking took a shot in the right side of the six-yard box that was saved by Luis Zamudio
  • 27’ – The 2019 Golden Boot winner Ronaldo Damus headed the hosts into the lead from close range after a corner kick. 

Second Half:

  • 58’ – New England tied the game through Isaac Angking who simply taps it into an empty net after being set up by Tiago Mendonca.
  • 79’ – Angking scored his second of the night, a shot that came from outside of the 18-yard box ended in the top left corner of Zamudio’s goal.
  • 88’ – Derek Waldeck’s shot attempt from the outside of the box went just far right of the goal. 
  • 90’ – North Texas SC tied up the match after a series of bounces in the six yard box that is finally poked in by Alex Bruce.
