MLS experts are sizing up which teams have the ingredients to win the MLS is Back Tournament, and FC Dallas keeps coming out near the tops of their lists.
MLSSoccer.com contributor Greg Seltzer touched on many key aspects that helped in picking his tournament favorites. “Naturally, a deep roster will come in handy during a short hot-weather tourney that allows five subs in a game, but there are many other variables to weigh.”
Seltzer immediately made it known why we're on his list of teams equipped to run the table. “FC Dallas won't be bothered by the heat, have one of the best starting back lines in the league, a seemingly endless stable of impactful midfield cogs and an array of ways to score.” With an already speedy attacking unit, it would be impossible to not mention the recent arrival of Franco Jara, who has been cleared to play in Orlando once his visa is stamped.
Meanwhile over on Extratime, host Andrew Wiebe tapped Dallas as his own dark horse to become tournament champions – though cohost Charlie Davies protested handing an underdog label to a team of FC Dallas' quality in the first place.
