Why You Should Watch the FCD Rewind of FC Dallas vs. Minnesota United | 8/10/2019

FRISCO, Texas – Next up on the FCD Rewind series is FC Dallas vs. Minnesota United from Aug. 10, 2019. The game will be re-aired this Sunday, April 19 at 7PM on TXA 21. It will also be available on fcdallas.com/OnDemand beginning at 8AM the following Monday.

It may not be live sports, but it’s the next best thing. Here’s why you should tune in to the FCD Rewind on TXA 21 this Sunday.

Some Context
FC Dallas was out for revenge when Minnesota travelled to Toyota Stadium in August last year. Dallas had lost the away trip to Allianz Field the month prior in a dramatic game which saw Minnesota goalkeeper Vito Mannone save a stoppage time penalty to deny FCD a crucial point. Following a narrow loss to Orlando City, Dallas was two points above the playoff line with 10 games remaining. Minnesota was enjoying its best MLS campaign and resided in second place, but only five points above Dallas in a competitive Western Conference. The table was set for a competitive matchup with both sides vying for playoff spots.

Brandon’s Brace
Despite only playing the final 15 minutes of this game, midfielder Brandon Servania grabbed the headlines with an inspiring substitute performance. The 20-year-old began the 2019 season playing in USL League One with North Texas SC and didn’t break into the FC Dallas lineup until after returning from the U-20 World Cup. With only nine MLS appearances under his belt, Servania came off the bench against Minnesota and announced himself to the FCD faithful with his first two goals at Toyota Stadium.

Goals, Goals and More Goals
Luchi Gonzalez
had seen his side shutout in the previous two games leading up to their home matchup with Minnesota. In search of more goals, Luchi fielded an attacking side with playmakers Jesús Ferreira and Paxton Pomykal lining up next to each other behind the front three forwards. What ensued was an incredibly entertaining 90 minutes and Dallas’ highest scoring game of 2019.

Here's how the teams lined up on Aug. 10, 2019.
