FRISCO, Texas – It's a home opener 25 seasons in the making. On Saturday, February 29, FC Dallas will kick off their 25th season in MLS in front of their fans at Toyota Stadium. FC Dallas, one of the founding clubs in MLS, will host Eastern Conference side Philadelphia Union, in a match presented by AdvoCare.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

  • FCD vs. PHI all-time6-2-4 (21 GF, 13 GA)
  • FCD vs. PHI home: 5-0-3 (12 GF, 3 GA)

FAFA FACES FORMER TEAM

  • FC Dallas forward Fafa Picault starts 2020 by facing his former team in the first match of the season. Picault was with the Union for the past three years before joining FC Dallas in the offseason. Throughout his MLS career, Fafa has scored 21 goals, and will look to make a strong start to the season with FC Dallas.

LUCHI'S YEAR TWO BEGINS

  • Luchi Gonzalez begins his second season with his sights set high after taking his team to the playoffs in his first year as head coach. With strong veterans like Reto Ziegler, Matt Hedges, Ryan Hollingshead and Michael Barrios, as well as some new additions to the roster, Luchi has a deep field of players to utilize in order to work towards his goal of winning a trophy in the 2020 season.

PRESEASON FRIENDLY TURNED WEEK 1 FOE

  • FC Dallas wrapped up preseason in Tampa where it faced its Home Opener opponent in a preseason friendly. FC Dallas won the match 3-2, but it wasn't an easy feat. The team will look to do it again on Saturday at Toyota Stadium for the first three points of the season. Zdenek Ondrasek and Fafa Picault gave FCD the edge over Philly in the preseason match, with Picault quickly showing his value to the FC Dallas offense. Although the defense allowed two goals in the preseason, the group will look to shut out Philadelphia on Saturday.

ADDED DEPTH

  • During the offseason, the club added depth to their roster by acquiring Fafa Picault, Thiago Santos, Nkosi Burgess, Eddie Munjoma and signing Franco Jara to a pre-contract. Saturday's match will be the first chapter of how Luchi and the team have developed and grown in the offseason.
