Rodriguez led North Texas SC to the inaugural USL League One title
FRISCO, Texas – USL League One title-holders North Texas SC has loaned midfielder Arturo Rodriguez to USL Championship winners Real Monarchs for one season with an option to buy, pending league and federation approval.
Rodriguez, 21, enjoyed a standout debut season in USL League One, winning the league’s Most Valuable Player award, Young Player of the Year, Player of the Month for May, and was included in the League One Team of the Week on nine occasions. In total, Rodriguez played 30 games, recorded a league-high 10 assists and added eight goals—including the title-clinching goal in the inaugural USL League One Final.
Born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Rodriguez joined the FC Dallas Academy in 2017 and quickly made his mark by scoring the game-winning goal against CF Monterrey Rayados in Dallas Cup XXXVIII Final to lead FC Dallas to its first Gordon Jago Super Group title. In all, Rodriguez played 13 games for the Academy in 2017, scoring eight goals.
