FRISCO, Texas – FC Dallas’ signing of striker Franco Jara from Pachuca in Liga MX is among the club’s most exciting incoming transfers in years—but there’s one catch: He won’t be here until the summer transfer window on July 1. In the meantime, let’s keep up with him as he finishes out his Pachuca career so we have a better idea of what we can expect once the Argentine arrives in Frisco this summer.
With two losses and one tie, Pachuca haven’t had a good start to the new Liga MX Clausura season. However, Jara did score the club’s first goal of the new year from the penalty spot in a 2-1 loss to Pumas on Jan. 12. The forward also started the subsequent two Clausura games but hasn’t been on the scoresheet.
Still in search of their first Clausura win this year, Pachuca and Jara next face powerhouse Tigris on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 7 PM CT. It’s a tough home matchup and Pachuca need to earn all three points in order to move out of last place in the table. The game will be shown on ESPN Deportes in the U.S., so tune in to keep an eye on Jara and see what he can bring to FC Dallas come July.
