ACADEMY: U-19s to Compete in Montverde Academy Soccer Tournament

FRISCO, Texas- The U-19s will be competing in the Montverde Academy Soccer Tournament this week January 7th-11th. The U-19s are in a SuperGroup with Valencia CF, SIMA Gold, and Jacuipense from Brazil. 

The MAST tournament has been taking place annually since its inception in 2012. It has built a reputation of being an elite competition of powerhouse teams. Over the past few years MAST partnered with the Florida Cup but is returning to the originally formatting this year of elite-level high school soccer as well as an International Supergroup, where FC Dallas will be competing. The tournament will be held in round-robin format with the top teams advancing to a single-elimination round with the final match held on Saturday, January 11. 

The U-19s finished the tournament in first place walking away with a new trophy to add to their collection. The victory came from a big 4-1 victory over SIMA Gold in the Championship match. Nico Carrera and Seth Wilson also won individual awards as Defender and Goalkeeper of the tournament respectively. The ended the tournament with a final record of 2-1-1.
