FRISCO - December 6, 2019 marks the one-year anniversary of the unveiling of North Texas Soccer Club. It was an incredible inaugural season for the team who capped of the year as the first-ever USL League One Champions. With the anniversary just four days away, let's take a look at the Top 10 moments from year one of North Texas SC.
On December 6, 2018, FC Dallas President Dan Hunt, VP of Communications Gina Miller and the newly named North Texas SC General Manager Matt Denny unveiled the club's name, colors, emblem and first player signing at British Beverage Company in Uptown, Dallas. Attended by friends, fans and media, the announcement set the tone for the season and revealed 15-year-old prodigy Ricardo Pepi as the club's first signing.
On July 17, North Texas SC took part in its very first exhibition match, taking on Spanish giants Sevilla FC at Toyota Stadium. FC Dallas midfielder Pablo Aranguiz started for North Texas and opened the scoring after 12 minutes after a great layoff from Ricardo Pepi. Although Sevilla was able to turn the game around with two late goals to defeat the Texans 2-1, it was a watershed moment for the young club.
