FRISCO, Texas- FC Dallas U-15 Girls team has been on a roll in the playoffs so far and will go into their Tuesday matchup against the Colorado Rush U-15 team. FC Dallas has won all four games, and in each victory, FC Dallas scored at least 3 and kept 4 clean sheets.
The forwards for FC Dallas have all been in strong form and they have had no problem scoring early and often, with at least one goal by the 44th minute in every game, while in every other game FC Dallas were up by at least 2 by halftime. While Nia Chacon and Taylor Cheatham have both been strong options, FC Dallas striker Taylor Zdrojewski has been both the proverbial unstoppable force behind their attack. Zdrojewski’s tally is 9 goals in 4 games, along with a four-goal performance that featured an 18 minute hat-trick in their final group stage match.
Although the offense has been eye-catching, the defense has also been very impressive. Four shutout performances have indicated that the FC Dallas is more than capable of leading them through the semifinals. Key to the defense have been their unique strategy of rotating goalkeepers. FC Dallas keepers Olivia Ramey and Drew Stover have each played a half of all four games, and this tactic has helped FC Dallas maintain a strong defense.
With both an unstoppable attack and an impenetrable defense, FC Dallas U-15 is prepared to face the undefeated Colorado Rush on Tuesday, July 9th. Colorado Rush was ranked as the first Wildcard spot heading in to playoffs while FC Dallas is ranked as the 6th seed in the playoff bracket. If they succeed in moving on to the Finals FC Dallas will face either the San Jose Earthquakes, or Placer United Soccer in hopes of taking home the playoff trophy.
