FC DALLAS vs. TIJUANA XOLO

- FC Dallas is coming off a vigorous stretch of games playing six games in the past 3 weeks. Most recently they won against D.C. United on the Fourth of July. Leading up to their most recent match FC Dallas had a record of 1-1-1. Tijuana played two games last week drawing against Herediano in a friendly.
OSCAR PARJEA RETURNS
- FC Dallas will face former head coach Oscar Pareja on Sunday when they compete against Tijuana. This will be Oscar’s first time returning to face his former team, although he has been back to the stadium a few times since he left for his new position.
- FC Dallas has played in three different types of matches over the past month. This includes MLS regular season play, Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, and now this is the first of two international friendlies on the FC Dallas schedule. Tijuana has mainly played in league play thusfar this year but have competed against a couple other teams as well.
FIRST YEAR COACHES
- This is the first year for both Luchi Gonzalez and Oscar Pareja to be coaching their current teams. Both coaches are working on building a team style and identity in their first season of play in their current positions. Along with this, it will be the first time the two coaches face each other since the changes. Both sides of the ball will be watching to see how the other approaches the game. Along with the unique circumstances, neither have had many matches in international friendlies so far this year adding another challenge to preparing and the match itself.
