CURRENT FORM

  • FC Dallas is coming off a big win over Toronto FC after losing in their Open Cup match to New Mexico United. They are looking to begin and win streak and bounce back from their loss to the Whitecaps earlier this season. Vancouver had a break for a couple weeks in June before tying the Colorado Rapids on Saturday 2-2. Their last win was against FC Dallas at the end of May.

WORKING TOWARDS REDEMPTION

  • FC Dallas has been in a bit of of a slump before the game against Toronto on Saturday night where they were able to win 3-0. Before that they had only won 2 games since April 20th, one of those being an Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match. Despite their challenges FC Dallas showed a new sense of unity across their field on Saturday against Toronto. Head coach Luchi Gonzalez and multiple players are looking forward to the match against Vancouver as a chance to redeem themselves from their loss in Vancouver earlier this year as well as develop some momentum moving forward.

GOLD CUP COMPETITORS

  • The Vancouver Whitecaps will be missing a some key pieces in their roster due to Gold Cup call-ups. They will be missing defender Derek Cornelius, goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau, defender Doneil Henry, and midfielder Russel Tiebert. Tiebert has started 12 games this season, and scored the goal that led to the Whitecaps win over Portland in May. Doneil Henry is also a key part of Vancouver’s lineup starting every game up until May 22nd when he was out with a hamstring injury. FC Dallas is missing Bryan Acosta, Carlos Gruezo and Reggie Cannon for Gold Cup Call-ups as well making for a younger roster on FC Dallas’ side of the ball.

FC DALLAS GETS ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

  • After Toronto last week FC Dallas earned their highest number of players on MLS Team of the Week in Week 16 with four players and head coach Luchi Gonzalez being named to the roster. Along with Team of the Week honors, Matt Hedges, and Paxton Pomykal were named to the 2019 All-Star Game roster this morning. If FC Dallas can continue  development in their play style, we could be seeing a strong next few games even with call-ups.
