FRISCO - North Texas SC forward Ronaldo Damus has been named USL League One Player of the Week for Week 12 after scoring a first-half hat trick in the club's 3-3 draw with Toronto FC II on Wednesday. Midfielder Arturo Rodriguez was also recognized for his performance in the match earning a League One Team of the Week inclusion as well.
Ronaldo Damus enjoyed a breakout performance against Toronto FC II scoring three goals in just 27 minutes to complete the second hat trick in USL League One history after teammate Ricardo Pepi recorded the first on opening weekend back in March. Damus wreaked havoc on Toronto defense throughout the match with direct runs and lethal finishing. The Haitian also completed four dribbles and nine of his 13 passes to earn his second Team of the Week inclusion and first Player of the Week honor.
Midfielder Arturo Rodriguez also had a standout performance in Wednesday's draw with Toronto. The playmaker assisted Damus on the forward's second goal of the game and also made made two key passes. Rodriguez was tidy in possession completing 31 of his 36 passes and also contributed on the defensive side making 13 recoveries. In addition to being named League One's Player of the Month for May, this is Rodriguez's third League One Team of the Week inclusion having been recognized in Weeks 5 and 7 as well.
