FRISCO, Texas-The pipeline for young, homegrown players at FC Dallas has continually produced excellent young players for the first team and it shows no signs of slowing down given their performance in the U-19 tournament in California, defeating the U-19 of Pateadores 4-1.
FC Dallas got off to a great start with a goal from forward Johan Gomez, and continued to pile on the pressure. They scored a second not long after with Beni Redzic doubling their lead in the 19th minute. FC Dallas kept pressing forward and were rewarded when midfielder Tanner Tessman gave the U-19s a lead of 3-0 heading in to the half.
The Pateadores came out of the blocks strong in the second half and a goal in the 54th minute gave them hope. However, Beni Redzic doubled his tally 10 minutes later to restore the 3 goal cushion and put the game out of doubt.
The FC Dallas team U-19 will go into their second game, Wednesday at 5:30 against the North Carolina U-19s full of confidence.
