Chester, PA - FC Dallas was unable to hold on to a 10th minute goal from Reto Ziegler as the Philadelphia Union scored twice late to take a 2-1 win in Pennsylvania.

Game Summary

First Half:

  • 10’ Reto Ziegler opened the scoring for FC Dallas with a curling, left-footed free kick after Marco Fabian was whistled for fouling Ryan Hollingshead outside the box.
  • 26’ – Fafa Picault attempted a header inside the box off a Kai Wagner cross, but his attempt bounced into Jimmy Maurer’s hands for the veteran’s first save of the night.
  • 30’ Maurer denied Brenden Aaronson’s low shot from the top of the box to keep FCD up heading to halftime

Second Half:

  • 57’ Maurer made a sliding save right outside the six-yard box to deny David Accam’s left-footed shot in alone.
  • 85’ – Cory Burke scored Philadelphia’s first goal of the nighton a rebound after Jimmy Maurer stopped Marco Fabian’s penalty kick attempt. The Union earned the penalty when Matt Hedges was called for a foul inside the six-yard box on Burke.
  • 90+2’ – Alejandro Bedoya worked his way to the top of the penalty area after receiving a pass from Ilsinho, scoring with a low-shot to the left side of goal to give Philadelphia the 2-1lead.
