FRISCO - FC Dallas ranks fifth in the league with 30 goals scored at home, while Columbus Crew SC ranks 23rd with eight goals scored on the road. Find out how the FC Dallas defense gets ready to face them on Saturday September 15, 2018 and you can be here too.
"Defensively we can do much better. Even if I think we did a good job but off course we can now avoid more goals against us." said defender Reto Ziegler. "We are training a lot on the defensive side. We have now almost two weeks to prepare on this game against Columbus so we did a lot of tactics which I think will help us on saturday.
FC Dallas has allowed a total of 16 goals against at home but Crew SC has also allowed a total of 16 goals on the road. One thing is for sure, the FC Dallas attacking chemistry continues to build even as the regular season comes closer to an end. In the past four games FC Dallas has been able to score eleven goals while allowing six goals against.
"We know it is not going to be an easy game facing a team who is doing well in the Eastern Conference," said Michael Barrios. "It is a team we have not faced at all this season, but we know the technical staff has been studying them and preparing us day in and out for this game."
"There are some small times where we let the goals happen," mentioned midfielder Victor Ulloa. "I am happy for the offense to get going and we need to tight it up in the back and if we keep that zero we know that we have guys that are scoring at any moment. We just have to focus on keeping that shutout in the back."
As FC Dallas stays on top of the western conference with 49 points this weeks focus continued to be on a variety of tactics but with the same mentality.
"The plan continues to be the same one to continue winning games," said Barrios. "We know there are only a few games left and we need to finish in the best way possible. Finish in the top spots of our conference in order to make it to the playoffs, but most importantly having that confidence as a team to give our fans, the club and our family joy."
