STANDINGS: FC Dallas Extends Western Conference Lead After SKC Win

FRISCO — FC Dallas is coming off of one of its biggest wins of the 2018 season after it escaped Children's Mercy Park with all three points for the first road win against Sporting Kansas City since 2011. The win saw Michael Barrios bag a hat trick, the first of his career, which included his first goal of the 2018 MLS season, too. The win saw FCD extend its lead in the Western Conference standings to six points following the completion of Week 22.

Los Angeles FC, second in the Western Conference, took on the LA Galaxy in El Tráfico during a Thursday night midweek game. LAFC started the week four points behind FC Dallas and was looking to gain some ground in the standings. LAFC jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead 20 minutes into the game following a Carlos Vela strike and a Lee Nguyen free kick. The lead would vanish late in the second half after Romain Alessandrini and Ola Kamara scored within four minutes of each other to split the points at the end of the night in a 2-2 draw.

El Tráfico was one of two games for the Galaxy in Matchweek 22, with its second coming at home against Orlando City SC. Orlando entered halftime with a 2-1 lead, but just two minutes into the second half, Zlatan Ibrahimovic got onto the scoresheet. Dom Dwyer responded two minutes later with a goal of his own, but Zlatan would bag two more goals to complete his first hat trick of his MLS career and gave the Galaxy a 4-3 win.

Portland hosted the Houston Dynamo on Saturday in a game that saw two goals in the first 12 minutes of the match. The Timbers would find the winner in the 80th minute through Fanendo Adi. The win extended the Timbers' unbeaten streak to 14 games, the longest in MLS this season.

FC Dallas' next opponent, the San Jose Earthquakes, played to a 0-0 draw to Real Salt Lake on Sunday to wrap up Week 22.
