FRISCO – Just 23 days after being signed, Marquinhos Pedroso was in the starting lineup for FC Dallas in a 3-2 win over Sporting KC.
Pedroso played all 90 minutes in his debut and was happy with his performance.
“It’s a great feeling,” he said. “Today was a great day for me because it was my debut in MLS and I hope to play many, many games in this league.”
Pedroso is looking to stabilize the left back position for FC Dallas, where he became the fifth player to start at the position since May 19.
Ryan Hollingshead and Maynor Figueroa have started five and four games respectively at left back since the injury and departure of Anton Nedyalkov, but neither has made the leap to stay in the lineup full-time.
“He did great,” Oscar Pareja said. ”It’s great timing for us to have somebody who can come and give us a hand there.”
Pedroso is already starting to get more comfortable with the other members of the back line.
“The guys help me,” he said. “They’ve been amazing since I’ve been here. I hope that we continue this process and we can win a lot of games.”
