FRISCO - After losses to Sporting KC and the New York Red Bulls, FC Dallas has been able to get back on track with a road win in Minnesota, followed by a thrilling win against Atlanta United FC.
Now, they will face a quick turnaround and head west to face Real Salt Lake. FCD has been very good adjusting in quick turnarounds, winning both games they have had with just two days of rest in between.
But they are playing a Real Salt team who is coming off a big win where they beat Sporting KC 4-2. It was the most goals any team has scored on KC this season.
"They're coming off of a big win, so we need to be wary that they are going to be on a high just like us," defender Matt Hedges said.
FC Dallas is looking to continue a historic season on the road. They are currently 4-2-1 with 13 points. Their 1.86 points per game away from home is the second highest in the league.
With a win, FC Dallas will get their fifth road win less than halfway through their road schedule. That would be on pace to set the club record of eight road wins in a season.
"I think our mentality has changed this year," Victor Ulloa said. "We really wanted to focus on being good away from home and we knew that if we wanted to win a championship here, we knew we had to find results and find wins away from home."
