FRISCO – FC Dallas forward, Adonijah Reid, put in a 90-minute shift for USL-side Ottawa Fury FC against a tough FC Cincinnati team and won Man of the Match honors.
Reid managed a full game shift in his second start for the Fury this season and was dangerous in the first half against a strong FCC side. Ottawa has been struggling in league play this season as they sit in the bottom spot of the USL Eastern Conference. This gave Reid a chance to start and play the full match against Cincinnati where he proved himself dangerous.
Ottawa played some of their best soccer of the season in the first half versus FC Cincinnati and early on Reid led a counter off of a FCC turnover where he found his teammate, Gerardo Bruna, but his ensuing shot was blocked.
The fifth-placed FC Cincinnati team seemed to almost concede right before the half as Reid managed a through ball to Kevin Oliveira who laid the shot off and the shot was cleared from the goal line.
The second half proved too much for the Fury and Reid as FCC managed three goals in ten minutes resulting in a 3-0 loss for Ottawa at home.
Adonijah Reid managed to earn MOTM honors from his dangerous attacking performance in the first half and hopefully, this leads to greater things from the young Canadian forward.
Ottawa Fury will continue USL play with another home game as they host New York Red Bulls II on Wednesday, May 2nd.
