FRISCO- It’s an important tradition. And in the Latino culture ‘quinceañeras’ celebrate and recognize a young woman's journey from childhood to adulthood. This event brings families together to unite communities, to unite culture, but most importantly to celebrate ‘la quinceañera.’
On Sunday, April 22, FC Dallas ECNL U15 defender Abigail Major will be in a white beaded dress made of tulle and lace as she celebrates with her family and friends. Major who recognizes she has family on and off the field and calls her FC Dallas teammates brothers and sisters decided to use her special day to help the FC Dallas Foundation. As she comes together with her loved ones on her big day, she does not want any gifts for herself. Instead, she is collecting monetary, as well as in-kind donations, for the FC Dallas Foundation’s Gear Up Project. The program focuses on collecting new and gently used soccer gear in order to distribute the gear locally and globally to disadvantaged youth.
