ACADEMY: FC Dallas U-17s to Face Pachuca in Liga MX Internacional Final at Estadio Azteca

FRISCO - The FC Dallas U-17 Academy team will play for the Liga MX Internacional title on Saturday morning against Pachuca at the prestigious Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. The game will be shown at Noon on Univision Deportes nationwide in the U.S.

Dallas wrapped up their seven-game group stage schedule with a 1-1 draw against defending U.S. Soccer DA national champions Atlanta United on Friday, finishing the tournament with a 3-2-2 record against the best Academy teams from MLS and Liga MX. It was a bit of revenge for FCD, who fell to Atlanta in the U-16 National Championship game just six weeks ago. They'll now face the Academy team of the club that knocked the Dallas first team that knocked the first team out of CONCACAF Champions League play in April.

Homegrown forward led the Dallas U-17s with three goals in the tournament that has seen victories over Atlas, Toluca and the LA Galaxy. Newcomer Gibran Rayo had two goals in the group stage, including the lone goal in Friday's draw. Dante Sealy (son of former FC Dallas player Scott Sealy), Johan Gomez and Julian Hinojosa all scored goals in the seven matches as well.

The 2017-18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy season will begin in early September for all six of FC Dallas' Academy teams.
