2017 Power Rankings: Week Six

The view from the top is pretty good for FC Dallas. After shutting out the Minnesota United FC, Dallas continues its stronghold on the top spot across various MLS Power Rankings. We’ll take a look at where FC Dallas landed remained and where the club’s upcoming opponent, San Jose, ranks.

The league loves FC Dallas as Oscar Pareja’s team is on top, with good reason, yet again. The experts who cover MLS say FC Dallas “continues to be the league's best team for a variety of reasons.”

Only one change in the top five as the Timbers and Toronto follow FC Dallas with Atlanta (+3) and Seattle (no change) falling in line.

San Jose checks in at 15 with MLS noting that the Quakes have a tough stretch with Dallas on Friday followed by three straight on the road.

Calling FC Dallas “the best team in the league”, ESPN FC’s Herculez Gomez puts FC Dallas on top, again, followed by Portland (no change), Toronto FC (+2), Seattle (+2), Atlanta (+2) and Houston (-3).

The Quakes stayed at number 12 with ESPNFC experts reminding us how powerful Chris Wondolowski can be, saying is “so quiet that he can pop up in the box unmarked mere yards from goal, which is precisely what he did to level in the 90th minute vs. Seattle.”

Soccer America

Dallas does it again in the Soccer American power rankings following by Portland (+3), Sporting KC (+4), Orlando (+8) and Houston (no change).

San Jose sits at 14. “The jury is still out on several of Quakes’ newcomers, but not so Costa Rican forward Marco Urena. His energy and sense of space are difficult to track. Only a tremendous save repelled his athletic volley of a Chris Wondolowski flick and in the 90th minute he ran down a ball on the wing and centered it for Wondo to equalize.”
