Training in the altitude hasn’t only been good for FC Dallas’ fitness level, it has also helped the club stay on top of various MLS Power Rankings. Okay, that’s a stretch but not playing hasn’t hurt Oscar Pareja’s club in our weekly roundup. In fairness, there were only six MLS teams that played this past weekend thanks to international action.
Here’s where FC Dallas landed this week:
FC Dallas maintained its lock on the top spot. Portland and Toronto remained second and third, respectively, this week while NYCFC jumped a spot to fourth pushing Seattle from fourth to fifth.
FC Dallas jumped from second to the top spot of ESPN FC’s Power Rankings without even playing a minute of regulation soccer. Portland (-1), Houston (+3), Columbus (+11) and Toronto (-2) round out the top five.
Again, FC Dallas leapfrogged Portland for the top spot. The Timbers (-1), Atlanta (no change), New York (no change) and Toronto (no change) complete the top five.
The view from the top is pretty sweet, as FC Dallas remained in the top spot in Soccer America’s rankings followed by Columbus (+2), NYCFC (+3), Portland (no change) and Houston (+6).
