2017 Power Rankings: Week One

FC Dallas traveled to California last week to take on the LA Galaxy in the MLS season opener. Both teams played aggressively, but FC Dallas ultimately left victorious. Although the Galaxy managed to score on a pentalty kick, goals from Maxi Urruti and Kellyn Acosta led the team to a 2-1 victory and Dallas came home to Texas with three points for the season. The Oscar Pareja-led team is off to a great start.

Last week, MLS ranked FC Dallas in the number 3 spot. After their big win at StubHub Center, FC Dallas moved up two spots to number one.

Last week, the Seattle Sounders claimed the top spot, but after their loss to the Houston Dynamo, they were knocked down to the number seven spot and FCD moved up to claim the top spot

Keeping with the trend, SI had Dallas move up one spot from two to the number one spot. SI citing the team advancing to the CONCACAF semi-finals and win in LA, giving the team a great start to the 2017 season.
