FC Dallas continued their Argentina preseason trip with a 1-1 draw against Argentine giants River Plate in Buenos Aires.
First half lineup: Seitz, Grana, Zimmerman, Hedges, Figueroa, Acosta, Gruezo, Barrios, Lamah, Colman, Urruti
At the 10 minute mark, Kellyn Acosta found Michael Barrios up the left flank with a long pass. Barrios brought the ball down, skipped by a defender and got a second pass inside to Cristian Colman. The big Paraguayan cut to his left before firing a shot that beat River goalkeeper Bologna but whizzed past the back post.
River gained a 1-0 advantage on a free kick, 30 yards from goal, in the 22nd minute. Fernandez lobbed a ball to the back post that drew FC Dallas goalkeeper Chris Seitz and two defenders. The ball popped loose from the pack, directly to Rossi, who knocked header into the empty net for the first goal of the game.
Seitz kept FC Dallas in the match with two saves in five minutes. The first came in the 27th minute. River left back Casco, came free on the left flank and hit a dipping shot towards the back post. Seitz was in good position and was able to make a leaping one-handed stop before recovering and grabbing the loose ball.
Another set piece opportunity for River came in the 31st minute. Casco once again was the shooter and for the second time in the half, Seitz stood his ground and smothered the dipping shot to keep the score, 1-0.
FC Dallas and River rotated their lineups at the half and, for the second day in a row, FC Dallas' second unit played well against one of the top teams in Argentina.

Near the 10 minute mark of the second half, Reid took on his defender and won a free kick on the left flank.
On the ensuing set piece. Morales worked to regain the the ball for Dallas, eventually getting the ball to Jesus Ferreira. The 15 year old quickly slipped a pass inside to Adonijah Reid, who walked in alone and beat the goalkeeper, low to his right side, to bring the score to 1-1, in the 59th minute.
Both teams had set piece opportunities in the closing minutes of the match. River whipped a third attempt over Seitz's head and the crossbar in the 82nd minute.
At the opposite end of the pitch, Mauro Rosales, who entered the match in the 82nd minute, floated a pass towards Atiba Harris, in the 88th minute. Harris was well marked and the challenge sent the ball away from danger.
0-1-1 on the Argentina trip after two games, FC Dallas will face another first division Buenos Aires giant, San Lorenzo, on Friday.
