The first of FC Dallas' two MLS End Of Year Award nominees will learn where he finished in league voting on Friday.
Matt Hedges, a finalist for MLS Defender of the Year for a second straight season, will look to become the first FC Dallas player to earn the annual honor, voted on by players, MLS club staffs and the media. Hedges was already named the club's Defender of the Year for the third straight year on Wednesday.
Dallas averages less than a goal against per game when he's in the lineup (2.25 GAA when he is not). In each of his first five MLS seasons, Hedges has started at least 25 games and FCD has lost in just four of his 26 starts. He is up for the league award against Axel Sjoberg (Colorado) and Jelle Van Damme (LA Galaxy).
Oscar Pareja, the other MLS End of Year Award nominees, will have to wait a few more weeks in his second straight year of nomination as well. The 2016 MLS Coach of the Year will be announced on Tuesday, Nov. 29.
