FC Dallas is back on top of the Supporters' Shield standings just one point away from clinching, and it's hard to deny something special is happening in Frisco. Take a look at what the soccer world is saying about FCD heading into Decision Day:
They sit in the driver's seat for the Supporters' Shield.
FC Dallas took back the top spot in the Supporters’ Shield race thanks Carlos Ruiz’s dramatic late winner in a 2–1 win over Seattle...Dallas will travel to the Galaxy with hopes of wrapping up the Supporters’ Shield. They can secure their second trophy of the season(after the U.S. Open Cup) with a win, a tie, or a loss and a tie/loss by Colorado. If Dallas loses and Colorado wins, Colorado takes the Shield.
Two late goals from Max Urruti and hero Carlos Ruiz saw FC Dallas take a 2-1 victory over the Seattle Sounders and take back control of their Supporters’ Shield destiny. A lot of travel awaits, as FCD will need to travel all the way to Guatemala for a CCL match against Suchitepequez on Thursday before visiting the LA Galaxy on decision day. The good news for FCD: thanks to tiebreakers in their favor, a draw or better will secure a double of the Supporters’ Shield and U.S. Open Cup, leaving the door open for a historic treble possibility.
