FC Dallas Holds Top Spot in CCL Group H at Midway Point of Group Play

# Team GP Record Goal Diff. Goals Scored Points
1 FC Dallas 2 1-0-1 1 3 4
2 C.D. Suchitepequez 1 1-0-0 1 1 3
3 Real Esteli FC 3 0-2-1 -2 2 1

At the midway point of their CONCACAF Champions League group stage schedule, FC Dallas is holding strong as the group leaders.

With a draw on the road against Real Esteli FC on Wednesday night, the club now has a clearer picture of what it will take to advance. Having played three of their four games with one point to show for it, Esteli has been eliminated from advancing. Group H now comes down to two teams.

FC Dallas' opponent in the next two games, C.D. Suchitepequez, has only played one match thus far, but will face Esteli on Sept. 13 - giving an even clearer outlook. If Real Esteli pulls out the victory at home, Dallas' path to advancing could be sealed with a win against Suchi. If the sides play to a draw, it becomes a two-game series to advance, with goal differential being the first tiebreaker, goals scored the second. If Suchitepequez wins on the road, then FCD would need at least a win and a draw to move past the group stage for the first time in club history.

Dallas will continue MLS and Open Cup Final play before getting back into CCL action on Sept. 28 when Suchitepequez visits Frisco.
