25 year old adds depth to one of Major League Soccer’s top offensive units
FRISCO, Texas (Saturday, July 9, 2016) – FC Dallas has signed forward Getterson Alves dos Santos, on loan from J. Malucelli, pending receipt of his ITC and P-1 visa, the club announced today.
Getterson, 25, played his first match as a professional in 2013 with Toledo in the Brazilian Paranaense 1. The forward scored two goals in 16 appearances before joining J. Malucelli, also in 2013. Getterson appeared in 45 matches for J. Malucelli in various competitions between 2013 and 2016. The forward found the back of the net five times in 13 games during the 2016 Paranaense.
J. Malucelli plays in first division in the Brazilian state of Paraná against renowned clubs such as Atlético Paranaense and Coritiba. The club finished second in in the table in the most-recent season with a record of 6-2-3.
Despite having an estimated population of only 15,000, Getterson and New York Red Bulls midfielder Felipe hail from the same small town of Engenheiro Beltrão, in the state of Paraná, Brazil.
