FC Dallas will face their in-state rivals the Houston Dynamo this Thursday at Toyota Stadium for their second matchup of the season. The two teams played each other in March at Houston and Dallas ended up with a 5-0 loss, but in anticipation of the upcoming Texas Derby matchup, here's a look back at how FC Dallas has played against Houston at home since 2013.
In March 2013, FC Dallas beat the Dynamo 3-2. Houston tied things up in the 83rd minute, but Dallas was still able to clutch the win thanks to a last minute minute goal from Kenny Cooper.
Dallas would also go on to beat the Dynamo 3-0 in an Open Cup game in June 2013. Kenny Cooper scored a pair of goals in the first half and Zach Loyd scored one in the second to give Dallas a cushioned lead, while goalkeeper Chris Seitz posted his second-straight shutout in Open Cup play.
In June 2015, Dallas beat the Dynamo 2-0. The first goal came with help from Houston defender Jermaine Taylor, when he attempted to block Fabian Castillo but instead knocked the ball off his leg and into the net for an own goal. The second goal also came from Castillo with an assist from Diaz, to solidify Dallas' lead.
The teams played again in October and Dallas came out with the win again, 4-1 with David Texeira and Kellyn Acosta scoring spectacular goals.
Dallas is currently 4-0 against Houston at home for the past three years and they look to extend that win streak to 4 as they take on the Dynamo again on Thursday at 8 p.m.
