FRISCO, Texas (Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016) – FC Dallas will return to TXA 21 with 20 local broadcasts planned for the 2016 season to begin a two-year local broadcast agreement. An additional 8-10 local broadcasts will be announced at a later date, while four regular-season matches are already slated for national TV.
In addition to match coverage, FC Dallas Extra Time hosted by Gina Miller and presented by Toyota will air before 18 matches. The 30-minute pre-game show brings fans an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at the lives of FC Dallas players and coaches. Fans can check in to the FC Dallas YouTube Channel for a post-game show hosted by Mark Followill following every home match starting with the March 19 clash with Montreal. The show, also presented by Toyota, will air 10-15 minutes following each TXA 21 broadcast. Viewers can submit questions in advance via social media for each interactive show.
Meanwhile, all FC Dallas regular-season and playoff matches return to radio with Steve Davis calling English broadcasts on 100.7 The Word, including a 30-minute post-game show. Spanish listeners can tune in to 1270 AM La Voz Del Pueblo on game day to catch Carlos Alvarado and Rafa Calderon. The duo will host 30-minute pre- and post-game shows, in addition to calling every match in Spanish.
For the soccer-loving P-1, the Kick Around, presented by FC Dallas, returns to 1310 The Ticket (96.7 FM) on Saturday afternoons from 2 to 4 p.m., with hosts Andy Swift and Peter Welpton. The duo talk soccer around the globe with a strong focus on the DFW perspective of the world’s game. On Sunday mornings, footy fans can tune in to ESPN’s Soccer Today on 103.3 FM (or catch the podcast version online) where Marc Stein, Steve Davis and Tyler Kern delve into the latest news and happenings in the game around the world, including exclusive international interviews and regular FC Dallas updates.
Finally, the popular Futbol Al Dia, hosted by Alvarado and Calderon, hits airwaves on ESPN Deportes 1540 AM every Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. Not only does the show feature exclusive interviews and content each week, it also frequently goes on location around DFW with FC Dallas players making appearances at live radio remotes throughout the season.
