Dallas side elects to forego Colombia trip after scheduling conflicts interfere with game plans
FRISCO, Texas (Friday, Feb. 5, 2016) – FC Dallas will host Alianza FC at 7:30 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 20, at Toyota Stadium for a pre-season friendly.
The 2015 Apertura champions in El Salvador’s Primera Division, Alianza also played at Toyota Stadium against FC Dallas in 2011 during CONCACAF Champions League group play. The two sides met on July 28, 2011, in San Salvador, and again on Aug. 3, 2011, in Toyota Stadium. FC Dallas won, 1-0, both times the teams met.
FC Dallas originally was scheduled to travel to Colombia Feb. 13, but scheduling conflicts with Colombian clubs participating in Copa Libertadores prompted the Dallas side to change preseason plans. The club will train at Toyota Soccer Center for the remainder of preseason, following its return from Casa Grande, Ariz., next week.
General admission tickets to the friendly with Alianza FC will go on sale Monday, Feb. 8. Tickets are $15 each, or $10 for FC Dallas season ticket members.
