FCD on Loan: Jesse Gonzalez makes professional debut, earns win with Pittsburgh Riverhounds

20-year-old Homegrown goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez has had a pretty good summer.

The Mexican youth international started two of three matches at the U-20 World Cup in New Zealand, earned plaudits for his performance in the Chipotle MLS Homegrown game and now he has earned his first professional start as well as his first professional win.

Gonzalez was loaned to the USL's Pittsburgh Riverhounds for Saturday's match vs Toronto FC II and in his first professional start, Jesse played all 90 minutes making two saves as the Riverhounds won 3-1 at TFCII. The lone goal was given up in the final moments of the match with the scoreline already 3-0 to the visitors.

The win was a crucial one for the Riverhounds who now sit in the final playoff spot in their conference three points ahead of Harrisburg City.
