FRISCO, Texas – The FC Dallas Academy teams split a pair of results each at home this weekend, with both teams defeating the Crew Soccer Academy on Saturday before dropping shutout results to Internationals from Cleveland on Sunday.
FC Dallas U-18s: 5
Crew Soccer Academy: 0
The U-18s kept up their fine form in their first game of the weekend, shutting out the Crew 5-0. The scoring started late in the first half when defender Nick Rochowski scored his third goal of the season in the 39th minute. Jose de la Tejera kept up his recent scoring tear with a brace in the match, scoring his first in the 40th minute and his second in the 65th. El Paso native Alonso Gallegos padded the lead in the 85th minute with his fourth of the season, and midfielder Marco Ortiz also scored his fourth of the year in the 88th to wrap up the scoring.
FC Dallas U-18s: 0
The U-18s' eight-game unbeaten run came to an end on Sunday, when they dropped a 1-0 result to Internationals. The lone goal of the match was scored by Grant Baltes in the 54th minute to give the visitors the win. It marked just the second time this season the U-18s have lost, each time by just one goal.
With an overall record of 18-2-3, the U-18s still lead the Texas Division with a nine-point lead on second place Texans SC Houston.
FC Dallas U-16s: 2
Crew Soccer Academy: 1
The U-16s won their third straight match on Saturday, beating their MLS counterparts 2-1. Antonio Aguilar put FCD up 1-0 in the 23rd minute with his fifth of the season. Noah Hutchins tied the match for the Crew in the 53rd minute, but midfielder Kellyn Acosta scored the game-winner for FC Dallas in the 78th minute to secure the win.
FC Dallas U-16s: 0
Like the U-18s, the U-16s went on to drop a shutout result the next day, losing to Internationals 2-0. The visitors benefited from a brace scored by forward George Poppas, his first coming in the 17th minute and his second in the 80th.
The U-16s have an overall record of 10-5-8 and remain in third place in the Texas Division behind the Dallas Texans and Texans SC Houston, respectively.
